Marion County Jail Officials Mistakenly Release Another Inmate

A convicted felon scheduled to return to prison to serve a 20-year sentence was instead mistakenly released by Marion County Jail officials. Levi Garrett was to begin serving a sentence for dealing meth, auto theft and resisting law enforcement according to WRTV. For reasons that are unclear, jail officials released Garrett on Monday and he's currently at large. The Sheriff's Office declined to comment on the mistaken release of Garrett, citing an ongoing investigation. The mistaken release of inmates has been a recurring problem at the jail in recent years.
